National Honor Society Kicks Off New School Year

The National Honor Society chapter at Collinsville has been an active part of the Collinsville community for decades, and recognizes students for the academic and personal merit. Earlier today, the CHS National Honor Society chapter held their first meetings of the year.

Today’s meeting covered topics ranging from t-shirt selections, proposed bylaws amendments, and new service hour reporting requirements. After meeting with high school Principal Scott Kiker, chapter adviser Eric Dutton announced that members of the CHS chapter may count up to ten hours of service performed during the summer towards their required 15 hours of service this semester. Additionally, members will be required to contribute a minimum of five hours through “NHS-Sanctioned Activities”. The first of these activities is the annual Taste of Collinsville event on Main Street this Thursday.

The CHS chapter also announced their plans to continue the tradition of the annual SpookHouse held at the Wilson 6th Grade Center Gym.
