Scott Kiker, the new principal at Collinsville High School grew up in Inola, Oklahoma and comes to us with experience as an Assistant Principal in Broken Arrow and principal at Sequoyah in Claremore. He has 2 children, Carsen and Case, who both currently attend schools in Collinsville. He idolized his high school basketball coaches and “always thought they had the best job in the world.”
He’s no stranger to Collinsville, having known Mr. Boomer and Mr. West for several years. He says he knows Collinsville is growing rapidly and wants the school to grow with it. He feels that bringing more technological resources into the school to create a digital environment is going to help CHS students become better prepared for college and careers.
One policy he discussed was the exemption policy, in which he feels that students who miss out on semester tests are not adequately prepared for semester tests in college. He also shared his thought on the cell phone and dress code policy. Neither will change this year, however, he did mention that cell phones can be used in the hallway or during the lunch period, also within classrooms if the teacher has permitted it.
He is excited to be leading the school and feels that CHS is on the right track to helping kids become successful citizens.
