On December 7-9 the Collinsville Lady Cards played in The Bixby Invitational. The Cardinals had high hopes of coming out of the tournament with a 2-1 record, and that’s exactly what they did.
The first game was on December 7 against Stillwater. This was a very close game as both teams went back and forth the whole time. The score was 28-30 at the half. Brook Farley, a previously injured player, had returned with a positive and aggressive attitude. Madison O’Dell showed up and showed out, scoring 28 total points. Bryn Willt followed shortly behind her with a great game as well. Unfortunately, the Cardinals fell short 53-57.
Their second game the following day was against Glendale, Missouri. The Lady Cards’ 3-point game was outstanding. O’Dell and Willt each had a pair, and Abby Stacy had one. After going into overtime, the final score ended up in a Cardinal victory at 47-39.
The final game on Saturday was against Lincoln Christian for the the Consolation Championship. The girls completely shut their opponents down by allowing them only 6 points the first half. By the end of the game, the Lady Cardinals claimed victory at 42-12, making them the Consolation Champs. Their improvement is greatly noticed, and they are looking forward to their next away game in Ponca City.
