HIGH SCHOOL

CHS EXEMPTION POLICY

All students will take cumulative semester final exams. As an incentive for exemplary attendance and academic achievement, students that meet the following criteria will be eligible to be exempt on the designated “exemption days”.

*A grade of an A with no more than three (3) absences.

*A grade of a B with no more than two (2) absences.

*A grade of a C with no more than (1) absence.

For the purpose of exemption eligibility calculation, an absence will be defined as any absence other than school activity, funeral of immediate family member, or driver testing. Absences with a doctor’s note will be considered chargeable for exemption purposes. A student must meet the exemption eligibility criteria in every class to be exempt, meaning “all or nothing.”

The first semester exemption day will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016. The second semester exemption day will be Friday, March 10, 2017.
