Band Wins Big At Bixby

This entry is part 2 of 10 in the series Collinsville Crimson Cadets

The Crimson Cadets spent their Saturday at contest again last weekend. This time traveling to Bixby for the Bixby Tournament of Bands.

Last year at this contest, the Cadets placed 3rd, a huge success for the group.

For the 2016 BTOB, they placed 2nd! The top 3 was as follows: 1st-Coweta, 2nd-Collinsville, 3rd-McAlester.

McAlester has been tough to beat in the past but the Cadets prevailed this year. The CCC competed against 18 other bands including Fort Gibson, Salisaw, and Ada.

Preliminary awards presented the Cadets’ drum majors (Nicole Schrag and Jacob Tyler) with 2nd place in class 5A and the award for Outstanding Drum Majors.

They performed 3 movements of their show “España.” Both in preliminaries and finals, they had great runs.

This coming Saturday (10/8) the band will travel to Union High School for the Renegade Review contest.
