Band Travels to Owasso Contest

This entry is part 1 of 10 in the series Collinsville Crimson Cadets

The Collinsville Crimson Cadet marching band traveled to Owasso this past Saturday (9/24) to compete in the Owasso Invitational marching contest. They competed against bands of varying sizes from Victory Christian to Jenks and Union. After competing in preliminary performance, they advanced into finals (top 12). After finals performance, they placed 11th. There were some injuries but overall the Cadets had a successful first contest of the season.

This season, the CCC show is entitled “España.” So far, they have finished 4 out of the 5 movements: El Toro Caliente, Danzon No. 2, Llorar, and Los Estrellas.

According to Midwest Marching, “This band packs a very full, large sound for their size, reminding us of their very successful programs in the 90s and early 2000s.”

If you’d like to see the Cadets compete again, they’ll be at Bixby at 4:00 pm (10/1), Union (10/8), and Mustang (10/22).
